Context
Switzerland has one of the best public transport systems in the world: is efficient, reliable and covers almost every corner of the country. A lot of people are using this system to commute to work or just for leisure purposes so there was a continuous demand of web and mobile applications in this area. Data was available from early days but mostly in a closed format, only from 2016 it was published as open data onto opentransportdata.swiss portal.
Assignment
Our members brought their contributions to several projects in the public transport field including:
- Pioneering in 2007 the first web visualisation of the swiss railways network: SwissTrains project.
- Designing and developing web and mobile applications using the open datasets: Swiss Public Transport iOS App.
- Helping the SBB engineering team with designing and developing public transportation and shared mobility solutions.
